Steve Kerr’s arrival changed everything for the Golden State Warriors.

The team was on the verge of doing something special with Mark Jackson, who paved the way for the dynasty to become what it is nowadays.

However, Kerr’s free-flowing offense, rotations, and overall way to connect with the players were just what they needed to get to the next level.

Even so, things haven’t been as smooth for this team over the past couple of years.

Coaching a dynasty can wear someone out, and it seemed like Kerr was exhausted at times.

His deal will also expire soon, which is why some people wonder whether he is going to stay there for much longer, especially if the team struggles in the playoffs.

Nonetheless, it seems like his future with the organization has never been in actual doubt.

According to Warriors insider Anthony Slater, team owner Joe Lacob has always wanted to keep Kerr around for as long as he wants to stay in the Bay Area, and he’s shown no signs of wanting to end their partnership right now (via 95.7 The Game).

“Joe Lacob has shown that he does want Steve Kerr here long term,” Slater said.

“Every time I’ve talked to him on or off the record he’s very motivated to continue coaching the #Warriors. Joe Lacob has shown that he that he does want Steve Kerr here long term. So I think they’ll come to an agreement. it’s just about the dollar amount”@anthonyVslater on… pic.twitter.com/QTnfHGyfJ0

Per Slater, it’s not a matter of whether they’re going to reach an agreement on a new deal but when it will happen, adding that they just need to figure the money out.

Kerr has earned the right to stay there for a little longer after leading them to four rings and six trips to the NBA Finals.

Now, he has to silence the doubters one last time and prove that this team is far from done yet.
