For years, Jerami Grant’s name has been floated around in trade rumors for multiple NBA teams.
While he’s making much more money than a player with his level of production usually gets, he’s still a very solid two-way player who could help a contender or a playoff-hopeful squad.
Needless to say, the Portland Trail Blazers are neither.
So, if anyone’s willing to absorb his mammoth contract and give some assets in return, so be it.
Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers have been noted as the likeliest trade candidate for his services.
With that in mind, NBA insider Jake Weinbach predicted that any potential trade package would most likely be centered around the likes of Cam Reddish, Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura, and a 2029 first-round pick.
If the Lakers pursue Jerami Grant, I think a trade offer would most likely revolve around Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish, and a 2029 first-round pick.
Grant would be more than an ideal target as the Lakers continue to poke around the trade market.

Of course, the Blazers might not be able to get that much out of those players, but they could flip some of them to land more draft assets.
Hachimura and maybe Vincent should hold some sort of value near the trade deadline.
Also, that 2029 first-round pick makes the deal significantly more appealing, especially if we also consider the fact that they would be getting Grant’s contract off their books.
Notably, Grant won’t help with the Lakers’ perennial shooting and spacing issues.
He will, however, provide more length and defensive prowess, and he’s proven to be a more than capable scorer when given enough opportunities.
The Lakers failed to make a single signing in the offseason, and Rob Pelinka must be very aggressive to bolster this roster before it’s too late.
