Ever since the Phoenix Suns have been under new ownership with Mat Ishbia running the show, the team has been very aggressive in his attempts to compete for an NBA title on an annual basis, with the team acquiring superstars Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal to play alongside Devin Booker.
Along with putting together a star-studded roster, the team also brought in a championship-caliber head coach, with the team hiring Frank Vogel, formerly of the Los Angeles Lakers, ahead of the 2023-24 NBA regular season.
The move to bring in Vogel was thought to be a solid one as he was one of the few head coaches who had led a team to an NBA title during his time coaching in the league.
Unfortunately for Vogel, things didn’t come together as planned for the Suns during the 2023-24 campaign, as the star-studded squad failed to live up to expectations and was embarrassed in the first round of the NBA playoffs by the upstart Minnesota Timberwolves.
With the Timberwolves pulling off the sweep against the Suns in the first round, Vogel’s job status has been shaky, to say the least, as his future with the team will be determined at some point this week, according to Evan Sidery of Forbes.
A decision on Frank Vogel’s future with the Suns is expected to come this week.

At this point in time, there’s no telling what the future holds for Vogel, as he could be one of the many head coaches to get fired this year, or maybe he’ll be given another shot to prove his worth during the 2024-25 NBA season.
With everything getting thrown together so quickly, it seems as though it would only be fair to give him another chance next season unless the team has its sights set on another head coach this summer.
