The Los Angeles Clippers lost their second-best player today.

Paul George is now officially a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, which was a somewhat predictable decision.

The talented two-way forward was the Sixers’ primary target for months now, and they were willing to do something the Clippers weren’t.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, George wanted to get a fourth year in his contract, and the Clippers were reluctant to do so.

That’s why he wound up taking Daryl Morey’s call and joining the Sixers (via Evan Sidery).

Per Woj, George believes he has a legitimate chance to win an NBA championship alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

Heading back to the Eastern Conference should also make life easier for him after dealing with the wild wild west.

George is one of the best two-way players in the game.

He can give you anything from 20 to 30 points on a given night, all while also dominating the glass and even making plays for others.

In Philadelphia, however, he shouldn’t be asked to do that much heavy lifting, as Maxey is a budding star and should be their secondary scorer behind Embiid.

Nick Nurse’s team also added Eric Gordon to the mix, and they brought Kelly Oubre Jr. back as well.

Daryl Morey made the most of the financial flexibility he got from the James Harden trade.

Now, the only issue will be whether they’re able to stay healthy and on the court.
