The Pittsburgh Steelers need a quarterback, and one of the best of the past two decades just happens to be a free agent.
Russell Wilson has emerged as a legitimate option for Mike Tomlin’s team.

This makes perfect sense for all parties involved, all things considered.
The Steelers must get better offensively, and while hiring Arthur Smith as their new offensive coordinator was a big step in the right direction, he can only do so much with subpart talent at the quarterback position.
Kenny Pickett hasn’t shown much in his two years in the league, and it seemed like the team had lost faith in him late in the season.
Reports stated that that wasn’t the case and the Steelers were looking forward to building the offense around Pickett again next season, which is why they weren’t interested in trading for Justin Fields.
However, with the Denver Broncos releasing Wilson, the opportunity may be too good not to consider it.
The Broncos will pay him almost $40 million not to play for them, so he could sign with any team for roughly $1 million.
With Mike Tomlin at the helm, the Steelers have been able to stay competitive despite their shortage of talent and production at QB, so they should become a legitimate contender with a guy like Wilson lining up behind center.
