The new NFL year is about to begin, and we could see some old faces in new places.
The running back market will be deeper than any offseason in the past five years or so.
And while that could give the players some leverage in negotiations, it could also lower their value.
Whatever the case, two running backs stand out from the rest of the pack in this market.
According to a report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs could find new homes rather quickly in free agency.
The #Raiders have been attempting to re-sign Josh Jacobs, per sources, but this late in the game he appears headed for the open market at noon.
Saquon Barkley and Jacobs could go off the board fairly early.

This is far from a surprise.
Barkley is one of the best running backs in the league, and not even his injury-proneness could be enough to scare teams away.
As for Jacobs, he’s one of the most underrated players in the game, and with the Las Vegas Raiders failing to give him a long-term deal, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him favoring another side over them in negotiations.
With those two stars off the board, teams would have to pivot towards other options, but there will be no shortage of potential candidates.
The likes of Tony Pollard, Austin Ekeler, D’Andre Swift, Dalvin Cook, and Derrick Henry will also be free agents.
And while the running back position’s value has plummeted drastically over the past couple of years, all these guys shouldn’t find much trouble getting a new contract, whether it’s with their current teams or with anybody else.
