The Cleveland Cavaliers had another disappointing playoff performance this season after falling in five games to the Boston Celtics after needing seven games to take out the Orlando Magic in the first round, and the franchise is now faced with a tough offseason featuring a slew of difficult decisions to make.

One of the biggest decisions is figuring out what Donovan Mitchell’s future looks like, and if he doesn’t sign an extension, there are reportedly quite a few teams ready to pounce on him.

Sam Amico shared (via NBACentral) that there are at least five teams that will attempt to make a Mitchell trade if he doesn’t extend, naming the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Philadelphia 76ers as the teams who will try to get it done.

Obviously other teams will do their due diligence, but a Mitchell trade would make a lot of sense for each of these franchises.

All five are in a tough spot, with the Lakers needing to maximize the final portion of LeBron James’ career and extend their championship window alongside Anthony Davis.

The Pelicans, 76ers, and Heat all have superstars but have begun trending down and need a bit of a revamp, and the Nets have very little going for them and need to make a huge splash.

It became clear down the stretch that the Cavs’ four best players don’t fit that well together, as the Mitchell/Darius Garland backcourt is questionable on both ends of the floor.

He hasn’t expressed interest in leaving, but at least five teams will be salivating if he does.
