For the first time in his NFL career, Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz is currently a free agent.

Ertz began the 2023 season as a member of the Arizona Cardinals, but earlier this month, the veteran tight end requested a release from the NFC West squad.

The Cardinals granted Ertz’s request, and now, he’s hoping to sign with a new team before the end of the season.

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero on Twitter, the former Arizona tight end has had conversations with six teams that are “in the playoff hunt” about a potential contract.

Three-time Pro Bowl TE Zach Ertz has had serious conversations with six teams in the playoff hunt, but is remaining patient to find the right fit, per sources.

Peliserro also added that Ertz isn’t rushing to sign with a team, as he’s taking his time to make sure he finds “the right fit.”

The Pro Bowl tight end first entered the NFL back in 2013 when the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the second round of the NFL Draft.

Ertz went on to have a very successful tenure with the Eagles, including the 2017 season when he helped the franchise win their first-ever Super Bowl ring.

He ended up getting traded to Arizona in the middle of the 2021 season, and while he didn’t set any sort of records during his stint in the desert, he still emerged as a reliable target for whatever quarterback the Cardinals decided to put out on the field.

With his time in the NFL coming to a close sooner than later, it seems like Ertz has his sights set on winning at least one more Super Bowl ring before hanging it up for good.

Which team will give him that opportunity?
