The Philadelphia 76ers know they’re not that far behind in the race for an NBA championship.
They have an elite tactician in Nick Nurse, a budding star in Tyrese Maxey, and a perennial MVP candidate in Joel Embiid.
They also have some solid role players and more than enough money and draft assets to lure more talent to the City of Brotherly Love.
Armed with that, Daryl Morey is expected to go all-in on this assignment.
According to a report by Sixers insider Keith Pompey, the Sixers will be very aggressive in their pursuit of Paul George.
Moreover, they could even include this year’s No. 16 pick and Tobias Harris via sign-and-trade, as the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly have an interest in Harris (via Legion Hoops).
REPORT: “The Sixers could include the No. 16 pick and consider even adding Tobias Harris via a sign-and-trade as part of a package. L.A. has some level of interest in Harris… And if George opts to become a free agent, don’t rule out Philly going after him.”

Philadelphia’s interest in George has been the worst-kept secret in NBA circles for months now.
George hasn’t been able to strike a new deal with the Clippers, and it doesn’t seem like they’re going to cave into his demands.
He can become a free agent by opting out of the final year of his contract, so if he’s not going to stay, the Clippers must find a way to convince him to at least opt in so they can at least get something in return for his services.
Should they fail to land George, they’re also expected to go after Jimmy Butler, and Morey — who rarely takes no for an answer — definitely doesn’t want to end this offseason without a third star for his team.
