The Dallas Cowboys had a lot of questions to answer heading into the 2023 NFL season.
Many of those questions revolved around Dak Prescott and whether he was the team’s long-term answer at quarterback.
Many questions have been answered as the Cowboys have continued to play well.
Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report recently appeared on ‘Speak’ on FS1, where he said that Prescott is in line to be one of the NFL’s highest-paid quarterbacks, if not the highest-paid.
Dak Prescott’s been lights out all season in Dallas!
Both he and the #Cowboys are highly motivated to secure a long-term extension this offseason that I’m told will make Dak one of – if not the – highest-paid NFL QB.

Schultz reports that Prescott’s contract could be $55-60 million per year from the Cowboys.
He also discussed Prescott’s current contract, which features a “no trade, no tag clause.”
This means Prescott will remain tied to the Cowboys, even if an extension is not signed in the offseason.
However, judging by Schultz’s comments, it is increasingly likely that this deal will get signed, potentially making him the highest-paid player in league history.
The quarterback market continues to be reset every year.
It happened in the 2023 offseason, and with more money and exposure tied to the NFL every year, this number will only move up moving forward, especially for quarterbacks.
The NFL is a quarterback-driven league.
Without an elite quarterback, it is nearly impossible for teams to make a legitimate run to the Super Bowl.
Will the Cowboys continue to see Prescott as their guy, making the commitment official with a contract extension?
That remains to be seen.
Prescott’s primary focus is to finish the season strong, hoping he can propel this team to a deep playoff run.
