The Atlanta Hawks were one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season.
That lone trip to the Eastern Conference Finals is starting to look more like a fluke every day that goes by, as they were unable to build off that momentum.
Not even a full offseason and season with coach Quin Snyder was enough for them to go in a different direction, and contrary to what most people thought, Trae Young and Dejounte Murray are simply not a good fit together.
And now that the Hawks have officially secured the No. 1 pick, Evan Sidery of Forbes reports that it’s become even more likely that they move on from Trae Young.
The possibility of the Hawks making Trae Young available in trade talks this offseason are “very real,” per @wojespn.

This is one of the weakest NBA Draft classes in recent history.
So, with the San Antonio Spurs — who have reportedly been keeping tabs on Young for quite a while now — owning the No. 4 and No. 8 picks, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them packaging those and a couple of contracts to get their hands on the former Oklahoma Sooner.
Young is a very talented offensive player and his numbers speak for themselves.
However, there have been some worrisome reports about his demeanor and attitude, and he might need a change of scenery at this point in his career.
Also, he recently parted ways with Klutch Sports, and changing management right before the offseason hints at potential moves.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of market value he has, but he should have several suitors.
