Klay Thompson has only played for the Golden State Warriors and is considered one of the most important figures in the team’s history.

He has had some great times with the Warriors but all good things must come to an end and Thompson might be leaving the Warriors in the months ahead.

Free agency is looming for Thompson and according to Shams Charania, he is ready to see what options are available to him.

“Klay Thompson, I’m told, is open to all external options in free agency coming up,” Charania said on Monday’s “Run It Back.”

Charania stressed that the Warriors want Thompson to return and offered him a contract extension before last season began.

Obviously, that contract was never signed and uncertainly hung above Thompson all season long.

That uncertainty was only made worse because Thompson had his most troubled season in years, averaging 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

Because of his subpar output, many people assumed his days with the Warriors were coming to an end.

As those rumors grew, a list of potential suitors emerged, including the Orlando Magic.

Even though he had a tough season, Thompson would still be highly coveted by a number of teams.

He would be a perfect fit for a franchise that is full of young stars who need guidance and experience, such as the Magic.

Thompson has always remained very loyal to the Warriors and he obviously loves his teammates and the people running the team.

But this could be a pivotal point in his career, presenting him with some great opportunities and a way to start a new, exciting chapter in a different location.
