Devin Booker is considered one of the best guards in the NBA and a crucial part of the Phoenix Suns.

But will he always be a member of that team or will he move to another franchise?

According to Fred Katz, via Legion Hoops, the New York Knicks “would become the obvious name” for Booker if Phoenix ever decides to trade him.

This isn’t the first time that NBA fans have heard rumors of Booker someday playing for the Knicks, but will it ever actually happen?

The idea of the Suns trying to move on from Booker might seem far-fetched to many but it’s not out of the realm of possibilities if the future for the team doesn’t get much better.

Over the last year, they have poured a ton of money and assets into building a stronger roster, creating the big three of Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal.

But that trio didn’t pan out as expected and the Suns were swept out of the playoffs in the opening round.

Time is running out for the team and if they aren’t able to make a huge course correction in 2024–25, the front office may think of doing things that were once inconceivable.

They are strapped for cash with very few assets that could get them a big return on the trade market.

However, Booker would be coveted by many teams, including the Knicks.

They might be forced to trade him away if they wish to build a strong future.

If the Suns get it together and have a good season next year, rumors of Booker leaving will likely fade away.

But if they continue to struggle, expect to hear more murmurs of him heading to New York.
