The New York Knicks had a very promising season with an equally disappointing outcome.
Tom Thibodeau’s team snatched the No. 2 seed and was playing like the best team in the Eastern Conference at one point, but a string of injuries eventually prevented them from reaching the Conference Finals.
Notably, Mitchell Robinson missed the most time among their starters, and the team clearly learned how to play and win without him.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that his name has been tangled up in multiple trade talks, according to Knicks insider Ian Begley (Via Knicks Videos).
Mitchell Robinson’s name has come up as the Knicks talk trades, reports @IanBegley:
“I don’t get the sense that the Knicks are fully committed to moving Robinson at the moment. But his contract (two years remaining on a descending four-year, $60 million) is helpful to salary… pic.twitter.com/a77OIH2h2S

Begley reports that even though the Knicks haven’t fully committed to moving on from Robinson, they did test the market for him in the past, and his two-year contract with a descending salary could be quite helpful to try and get other pieces in return.
Robinson is a solid defensive anchor, but he’s injury-prone and has a tendency to get into foul trouble.
The Knicks seem to have found a balance between Isaiah Harstentein and Precious Achiuwa.
They need to prioritize adding another scoring threat next to Jalen Brunson, and they also have to make a decision about whether to trade Julius Randle or not.
Whether they end up doing it remains to be seen, but one thing seems to be a big certainty, and it’s that the Knicks are going to be one of the most talked-about and aggressive teams throughout the course of the entire offseason
