The Los Angeles Rams are looking to have another solid season with veteran Matthew Stafford under center.

However, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Stafford is looking for more guaranteed money in his contract.

The Super Bowl champion wants to make sure he feels valued by the team and is fairly compensated for his play.

The good news for the Rams is that Stafford isn’t looking to hold out or anything like that.

Now 36 years of age, Stafford may also be looking to get as much money as he can before he suffers an injury or decides to retire.

He has not played a full season since the team’s Super Bowl year in 2021 and has had a history of playing through injuries too.

The former Lion is one of the most underrated quarterbacks in NFL history.

Somehow, he has only been voted to two Pro Bowls despite being the fastest quarterback to throw for 40,000 career yards.

Without Stafford being traded to Los Angeles a few years back, who knows if Sean McVay and the Rams ever secure a title?

With the former No. 1 overall pick around, the Rams have won 10+ games and made the playoffs in two of the last three seasons.

He has continued to help this team stay relevant.

Now, heading into 2024, the Rams will be without legendary defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who retired earlier this offseason.

But, Stafford still has some great wide receivers at his disposal in All-Pro Cooper Kupp and All-Pro Puka Nacua.

As long as Stafford remains healthy, and that’s a big ask, the Rams can hang with any team in the league at their best.
