For years, Adam Thielen was one of the best players for the Minnesota Vikings.
Even when Stefon Diggs left, Thielen kept doing his thing and posting his numbers.
He became a fan favorite in the Twin Cities, and he was clearly affected when he was let go.
Thielen, who was born and raised in Minnesota, spent his entire career there before his one season with the Carolina Panthers.
That’s why NFL insider Ben Goessling wouldn’t be shocked if he were to come back at some point (via KFAN 1003 & The Purple Persuasion).
“Adam Thielen is still under contract in Carolina, but he’s been working out with J.J. McCarthy. And if he ends up getting cut in Carolina, I guess I wouldn’t be stunned by that,” Goessling said.
If former #Vikings WR Adam Thielen ends up getting cut by the #Panthers, both Thielen and the Vikings could have interest in a potential return to Minnesota, per @BenGoessling via @KFAN1003

Goessling explained that the Vikings could be interested in a reunion, and Thielen would obviously gladly head back home.
Also, the fact that he’s been working out with JJ McCarthy could also be a factor here.
Goessling argues that the Panthers could cut the veteran at some point, thus leaving the door wide open for a return home.
Notably, the fact that Thielen is working out with McCarthy instead of Bryce Young might also speak volumes about his love for the Vikings.
Thielen’s departure from the team was always money-related, but he was a beloved and respected member of the organization, and everybody there spoke highly of him.
He’s not particularly young, and everybody knows he’s inching closer to the end of his career.
But the Vikings have more than enough young players to step up and get the bulk of the snaps while he serves as a mentor and contributes in a lesser capacity while he still can.
