The New York Yankees and their new-look offense are poised for a big bounce-back season.

That’s the impression that fans and media get when watching this year’s lineup.

It might not be quite as good as the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Atlanta Braves, but it can be one of the best units in the American League.

The addition of Juan Soto, who posted a .930 OPS last year with 35 home runs, 109 RBI, and 132 walks, definitely helps and gives the Yanks another star in addition to Aaron Judge.

On top of that, aging sluggers such as Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton appear to be healthier and more productive.

The impression is that they will be much, much better than last year’s Yanks.

“Saw the Yankees. A rival exec is worried that with Juan Soto and improved health, the Yankees might score 250 more runs than they did last year. Whoa. Six teams since 1900 have done that, the last being the 1977 White Sox,” MLB insider Tim Kurkjian tweeted.

Scoring 250 more runs than they did last year would mean they cross home plate at least 923 times.

That total would rank them second in last year’s table, behind the Braves.

In reality, such a dramatic spike seems unrealistic, but the Yankees would take 150-200 more runs than they scored in 2023.

They have the resources to score at least 850 runs, which would take them far with the talent they have in the rotation and bullpen.

In any case, we would have to see it with our eyes because they were also supposed to score a lot in 2023 and finished 25th in runs scored.
