The Baltimore Ravens look like the clear favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII after they put up another dominant performance in Week 17.
The Ravens boat raced the Miami Dolphins 56-19 this past weekend, showing how they can win games on both sides of the field.
Baltimore’s defense has been outstanding throughout the 2023 NFL season, but the offense really shined in the win against Miami.
Conducting it all was Lamar Jackson who looks poised to win his second MVP award.
Jackson’s campaign has made most people forget that he actually wanted out from the Ravens this past offseason before the two sides agreed on a five-year, $260 million extension.
However, there was a prevailing thought among fans that some level of collusion was going on regarding Jackson’s contract status and Adam Schefter of ESPN revealed no teams made an effort to try and steal the quarterback away in free agency via The Rich Eisen Show.
“There was never a team, never a team that was willing to even make the effort to challenge it to make it such that the Ravens couldn’t match,” Schefter said.
Was Lamar Jackson ever actually going to leave Baltimore last offseason? How many teams regret not calling the MVP? What’s the latest with the collusion case?#RavensFlock @Lj_era8 #NFL pic.twitter.com/bamDSKcXz2

Throwing around the word “collusion” is not a light thing to do, but in the clip it sounds like Schefter believes some level of collusion did occur.
The controversy stems from the idea that team owners wanted to avoid another Deshaun Watson contract situation with Jackson, so no teams reportedly offered a similar contract to Jackson.
This is an interesting storyline to monitor with the playoffs right around the corner, but for now, the Ravens need to focus on the task at hand and that’s getting to the Super Bowl.
