The Charlotte Hornets have not started the 2023-2024 NBA Season the way they would have hoped.

After signing LeMelo Ball to a contract extension and drafting the highly-anticipated Brandon Miller, the Hornets were expected to turn things around.

While it is still early, it seems that the Hornets will need to make some changes if they want to compete down the stretch.

Isaiah Thomas recently tweeted about the possibility of him returning to the team to help provide more depth.

I did lol. https://t.co/prTrDXCNcw

Thomas responded to a fan who mentioned the Hornets might need a backup point guard.

He seems to be interested in coming back into the league in any capacity a team would take him.

The real question is if the Hornets are interested in taking him back.

Thomas last played for the Hornets during the 2021-2022 season.

During that season, he played for four different teams, including the G League’s Grand Rapids Gold.

While he was a journeyman throughout that year, he was still able to put up solid numbers for the Hornets.

In 17 games, Thomas played 12.9 minutes per game, averaging 8.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

This was a significant decline from his peak during 2016-2017 in Boston, where he averaged nearly 30 points per game.

Thomas has been a valuable NBA contributor at times.

When healthy and on the floor, he should still have enough gas left in the tank to show a team like the Hornets that he is valuable to their organization.

If current trends with the Hornets continue, it will be interesting what direction they go moving forward, especially as it pertains to Thomas.
