Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been a superstar during the 2024 NBA Playoffs, leading his team all the way to the Western Conference Finals.
It’s the first time Minnesota’s made it this far in the postseason since Kevin Garnett was the face of the franchise, so this is a big deal for the organization.
Although the Timberwolves find themselves down 0-2 against the Dallas Mavericks, they can’t be counted out because of Edwards’s presence.
The young superstar has shown a knack for responding after losing in the playoffs, and it’ll be up to him to lead the way against a Dallas team that has the Finals on their radar.
Throughout the playoffs, Edwards has drawn lofty comparisons to Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan because of the similarities in their attitudes and playstyle.
However, NBA legends like Isiah Thomas want to pump the breaks on any comparisons between the two shooting guards via SiriusXM NBA Radio.
“Just because they both jump high, doesn’t mean they’re the same players,” Thomas said.

Thomas also explains that while Edwards is the better perimeter shooter at this age, Jordan was the better driver and more aggressive player who hunted his own shots.
For Edwards to even be in the same conversation as Jordan speaks volumes about his talent level and skill.
Edwards has enough potential to become an all-time great, though he surely needs at least a couple more years under his belt before he can sit at the same table as Jordan.
