Something special is going on with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Despite an offseason that was filled with plenty of headaches, rumors, and painful headlines, the Sixers have gotten off to a great start this year and have an 8-1 record.
“You go back to the very first day of training camp, this team has had a different vibe,” J.J. Redick said about Philly on the latest episode of The Old Man & The Three.
He said that he’s not sure what has caused the good energy and camaraderie in Philadelphia but he thinks it is working wonders for the team.
.@jj_redick loves the vibes in Philly right now.

The 76ers had a rollercoaster of a summer.
They lost their previous head coach, Doc Rivers, and were embroiled in multiple controversies.
The biggest was, of course, James Harden’s public cry for a trade and the tabloid-worthy mess that followed.
Harden was eventually traded to the Los Angeles Clippers just a few weeks ago.
The bruising summer had some people wondering what the 76ers would look like this year.
Would all of this drama and the addition of Nick Nurse as coach cause growing pains?
Apparently not, as the 76ers have been playing some of their best basketball in years and have now won a strong eight games in a row.
They are currently the best team in the East and multiple stars are performing well.
That includes Tyrese Maxey, who earned a career-high 50 points on Sunday evening.
On his show, Redick said it was obvious that Joel Embiid and other players on the roster were rooting Maxey on and encouraging him to reach 50 points.
This team is filled with people who really like one another and share one common goal: winning it all.
The 76ers are proving that adversity really can bring a team closer together.
