The San Francisco 49ers had been the best team in the NFC all year long, so it’s not much of a surprise to see them make the NFC Championship Game.

They won games in all sorts of ways, whether it was running the football, slinging the ball with explosive plays, dominating on offense, dominating on defense, and even coming back from behind.

The only common factor in those wins was that Brock Purdy was the starting quarterback.

Even so, people continue to doubt him and talk down on him, which is why future Hall of Famer JJ Watt took to Twitter to give him his flowers.

“Mr Irrelevant to Super Bowl starting QB in 2 years is crazy man… Give that man Brock Purdy his flowers,” Watt posted.

To be fair, the bad Brock Purdy has been pretty bad, but he hasn’t shown up very often.

On top of that, he’s the ultimate feelgood story: someone taken as an afterthought with the final pick in the NFL Draft who made his way to the field because of a string of injuries and proved to be better than his colleagues.

Purdy has barely lost in two years as a starter.

He might not be the most athletic prospect or post the most impressive numbers, but all he does is win football games.

Unfortunately, it just seems like it doesn’t matter what he does; he’s just never going to get the credit for his team’s wins, yet he’ll always get the blame when things don’t go their way.

It’s like he’s to blame for having an elite set of teammates and an outstanding offensive play caller.
