There’s been a lot of talk about quarterback sneaks among everyone invested in the NFL.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ controversial “tush push,” QB sneak is always a topic of discussion around the league.
As its name states, the people behind quarterback Jalen Hurts force him through the end zone with a push.
Some say it should be banned while others argue that teams should be able to stop the Eagles on the play.
However, three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt shared his take regarding the play.
Watt tweeted, “Lots of talk about the ‘tush push’ (ridiculous name by the way). Unpopular opinion: If they weren’t allowed to push from behind, the Eagles would still be just as successful at QB sneaks. Yes it helps, but the push isn’t the reason it’s successful. The OLine and Jalen are.”

Watt makes it clear that the reason the play is so successful is because of Jalen Hurts and the offensive line.
He also claims that the Eagles would still be just as successful without the push from behind on QB sneaks.
He does have a point because a play from the one-yard line (or closer) is virtually unstoppable with a great offensive line.
But it still takes discipline for the Eagles to execute that play.
It also helps to have arguably the best offensive line in the NFL.
