On Tuesday, the St. Louis Cardinals completed their flurry of moves at the trade deadline, sending right-hander Jack Flaherty to the Baltimore Orioles.

Flaherty joined Jordan Montgomery, Chris Stratton, Paul DeJong, and Jordan Hicks on the list of players the Cardinals traded this week.

The young right-hander now has a chance to help the Orioles compete for a World Series title.

However, he wasn’t about to walk out of St. Louis without giving the Cardinals and their fans a proper goodbye.

He posted a farewell message on Instagram.

John Denton of MLB.com posted a screenshot of Flaherty’s goodbye message on Twitter.

Flaherty thanked the Cardinals organization and the city of St. Louis for giving him the opportunity to live out a dream.

The right-hander was drafted by the team in 2014 and made his Major League debut three years later.

His best stretch with the Cardinals came in the second half of the 2019 season, when he helped guide the team to its 11th NL Central title.

He also won Game 5 of the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves to send St. Louis to its first NLCS since 2014.

Flaherty also commented on some of his most memorable moments in St. Louis and said that he couldn’t thank the fans enough for welcoming him with open arms.

The right-hander praised the fanbase for sticking with him through all the ups and downs of his Cardinals tenure and signed off by saying he would always hold a special place in his heart for St. Louis and Cardinals fans.
