It is always neat to see an athlete embrace who they truly are.
Jacksonville Jaguars star edge-rusher Josh Allen has recently made a big announcement regarding his name.
According to Allen himself, he is changing his last name to Hines-Allen.
He will now be known as Joshua Hines-Allen.
“This is what I want to do…I’ve always been a Hines and legacy is forever…My last name is changed but I am still that person,” Allen said in a video that he posted to social media.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen a great defensive player change his name.
It isn’t even the first time that this has happened in the AFC South.
While he was with the Indianapolis Colts, four-time All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard decided to go by Shaquille Leonard instead.
Allen is one of the best defenders in the game currently and is coming off his best season as a pro.
He recorded 17.5 sacks, which is now the new Jaguars’ franchise record.
The former first-round pick also recorded a career-high 17 tackles for loss and a career-high 33 quarterback hits.
Earlier this offseason, Hines-Allen signed a five-year extension worth $150 million ensuring that he will be a Jaguar for the foreseeable future.
Jaguars fans should be very excited about the future of their defense with him leading the way moving forward.
