The Jacksonville Jaguars surprised many around the NFL during the 2022 season.
After a 3-14 record in 2021, they turned things around the next year, making the playoffs, and even winning the Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
While this was a team effort by the Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence received a lot of credit for this success in his second NFL season.
In a recent interview with Peter Schrager, Jaguars offensive coordinator Press Taylor talked extensively about Lawrence’s attributes.
“I’ve never seen him lose his cool or anything like that,” Taylor said.

Lawrence was a highly-touted prospect heading into the NFL and was well-known for his history of winning football games.
Taylor seems to believe that one of his best features is the ability to stay calm during a game, no matter the situation.
However, this wasn’t to say that Lawrence isn’t competitive.
Directly after these comments, Taylor said, “I’ve seen him get intense and a little more competitive,” but as a whole, he stays calm under pressure.
This intensity gave Lawrence the ability to succeed in his second year, taking a massive jump in production in year two.
Heading into the 2023 season, the Jaguars continue to demonstrate their belief in Lawrence as the franchise star.
They invested in Calvin Ridley, a wide receiver who at times has proven to be one of the best in the league.
The team also drafted a few additional pieces on offense that should help Lawrence take yet another step in the right direction.
