The Seattle Seahawks might not be entirely satisfied with their current roster.
First-year head coach Mike Macdonald wants to keep Pete Carroll’s defensive identity going, and he needed to bring in more weapons to do so.
With that in mind, they picked up the phone to get Trevis Gipson from the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

This comes on the heels of the Seahawks moving on from a linebacker of their own, as they recently traded Darrell Taylor to the Chicago Bears.
The Seahawks suffered some injuries to their defense shortly after, so this makes sense.
On top of that, Gipson is making less money than Taylor was slated to make, and he might be a better fit for Mike Macdonald’s defensive schemes.
The Jaguars, on the other hand, needed to shed some players off their roster, and they already have a stacked defensive line, so they could afford to do so.
The 27-year-old actually was a fifth-round pick by the Bears in 2020.
The Seahawks already have their starters in place, so he’s likely going to be just a rotational piece at first, but if he’s a solid fit, he could carve a bigger role at some point in the future.
