The New York Knicks are having a bit of a problem right now.

Tom Thibodeau’s team is highly decimated by injuries, and it seems like the Indiana Pacers have figured them out on defense.

They were already down two key players in Mitchell Robinson and Julius Randle, not to mention a key reserve and efficient scorer like Bojan Bogdanovic.

Now, they’ve also lost their best defender in OG Anunoby, who could also give them from 15 to 20 points on any given night.

That has left Jalen Brunson on an island as the sole legitimate scoring threat in New York, and the Pacers are gladly going to accept that.

Nonetheless, Brunson doesn’t believe there should be any excuses for their subpar performance in Game 4.

Talking after the game, the former Dallas Mavericks guard dismissed the narrative of the team being shorthanded and whatnot, stating that they wouldn’t make up any excuse (via New York Basketball).

“There is no ‘we’re shorthanded.’ There is no excuse. There’s no excuse whatsoever”

The Knicks’ lack of depth should be a major concern.

Not only are the Indiana Pacers a deep and young team, but they simply may not stand a chance against the Boston Celtics if they manage to move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Truth be told, this is far from a surprise at this point.

This is exactly what happens with Tom Thibodeau’s teams year in and year out.

He wears 5-7 players out until their bodies simply cannot hold up anymore.

We’ve seen guys like Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler struggle with injuries for the remainder of their careers after playing for Thibodeau, and it just feels like a disservice at this point in his career.
