The New York Knicks seemed destined to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Not only did they start their playoff series against the Indiana Pacers by winning the first two games, but they also had a 3-2 series lead.

Despite only needing one more win to advance to the conference finals, the Pacers won the final two games of the series.

This was a frustrating result for the Knicks and their fanbase, especially since they haven’t made it to the conference finals for over 20 years.

Jalen Brunson was the team’s leader during this playoff run, but unfortunately, he got injured in Game 7 and was unable to help his teammates for the entire game.

After seeing the team’s Game 7 collapse, Brunson was asked by reporters if this season was a success.

According to CBS Sports, Brunson quickly responded “no” to this question.

It is clear that Brunson is frustrated with his individual output, as well as the overall output that the team provided in this game.

They couldn’t close it out against the Pacers, a team that many fans thought they should have blown out of the water.

Now, the Knicks are forced to go back to the drawing board in the offseason, hoping to make the necessary moves to improve their team heading into 2024.

Brunson will still be there next season to help lead the team, but as for the rest of the roster, that remains to be seen.

Can the Knicks find a way to build off this experience and make a deeper run next season?
