NBA players continue to claim they’re world champions despite playing solely against teams from the U.S. and Canada.
Now, following their disappointing performance in the FIBA World Cup, they’ll have an opportunity to put their money where their mouths are.
With Kawhi Leonard accepting Team USA’s invitation, their roster for the Paris Olympics is all set.
Leonard will be joined by a flurry of NBA talent, with the likes of Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo, and Anthony Edwards rounding out the roster.
Notably, all players have earned the right to represent their nation on the biggest stage in sports, but some felt like Jalen Brunson was snubbed.
Brunson was the best point guard in the game this season, averaging 28.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game while leading the New York Knicks to the No. 2 seed.
However, when asked about whether he felt snubbed, he claimed that he didn’t even look at the list because he’s just focused on the playoffs (Via Knicks Videos).

That’s the kind of killer mindset that has helped Brunson put this ever-struggling franchise on his shoulders and turn them into a legitimate contender.
He’s tough as nails, and despite being a willing passer, he’s also shown that he can carry the load on offense and put up points in a hurry.
It had been a while since the Knicks had a star like him, and with New York being such a major market, it’s crazy to think that he didn’t get the nod.
Then again, only 12 players out of a pool of dozens of stars could make the cut, so there will always be multiple snubs.
