On Sunday night, the sports world was shocked by the news that Kentucky coach John Calipari was in “serious talks” to become the new head coach of the University of Arkansas.
This would, of course, be a massive change that could shake up college basketball.
Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, who got his start playing collegiate sports, was astonished by the news.
On Twitter, he simply posted “what” with the news of Calipari’s impending hiring.

Calipari has been with Kentucky since 2009 after working at Memphis for nine seasons.
He has found great success leading Kentucky but when the team recently lost in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, a ton of speculation about his future swirled.
It sounds as if he is ready to start a new chapter in his storied career.
Brunson played for Villanova along with Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo before being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Like many NBA stars, he has remained a big fan of college basketball since then and will be excited to see what Calipari can do in Arkansas.
Calipari is known as a college coach but also spent three seasons leading the New Jersey Nets.
But he only scored a 72-112 record during that time and it’s clear that he is much better suited for the world of college sports.
Brunson’s tweet came right after his team beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 122-109, giving them another highly valued win before the playoffs start.
The Knicks are the fourth seed in the East and if the standings hold they will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the postseason for the second year in a row.
