The New York Knicks appear to be building something special.
Despite not making a deep playoff run in several years, there is optimism surrounding this team for the first time in many years.
There are several players on the roster slated to be with the team for the foreseeable future, allowing them to stay consistent and cohesive as one unit.
One of those players is Jalen Brunson, who recently signed a four-year contract extension for $156.5 million.
This contract turned many heads when the numbers first came out, mainly because Brunson is turning into a superstar.
He was viewed as one of the best players in the league last season, and yet, this contract was well below market value.
However, it appears that Brunson is excited about the future of the Knicks, and didn’t want to leave before they had the chance to hit the ground running.
He talked about this in a recent segment of his podcast, Roommates Show.
“It’s kinda simple. I want to be here. I want to show that actions speak louder than just talking about stuff. I want this team to be together for a long time. I want to win here. That’s it,” Brunson said.

Brunson believes in the vision the Knicks have set out before them.
The Eastern Conference is going to be a difficult battle for the foreseeable future, but Brunson and his teammates seem up to the task.
With renewed energy and focus, Brunson is ready to compete at a high level heading into the 2024-2025 season.
Can he build off this momentum and lead the team on a deep run?
