There is no doubt that Jamal Murray is one of the most important basketball players in the league right now and that he helped his Denver Nuggets win their first Finals just weeks ago.
But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still feel disrespected at times.
Right now, Murray is upset about his in-game player rating in the upcoming NBA 2K24 video game.
Murray was given an 84 rating for the game, which is based on the overall performance of an athlete.
He was so dissatisfied with that rating that he hopped online to protest.
“Ain’t no way my rating that low! How is that possible??” Murray asked.
Basketball Forever noted that several players have higher ratings than Murray, including Myles Turner, Brook Lopez, Julius Randle, and Evan Mobley.
None of them were part of a championship team so you can understand Murray’s frustration.

The fact that Murray just made it to – and won – his first Finals and still isn’t receiving the rating he wants makes all of this sting so much more.
In the grand scheme of things, the NBA2K rating isn’t the end of the world.
It doesn’t really dictate just how good or bad a star is.
But Murray isn’t the first one to protest this number.
In the past, other players like Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant have spoken out when they have been given a rating that they feel is too low.
NBA stars take this very personally.
The NBA2K games have become the most popular basketball video game series on Earth.
Each edition sells out and makes millions of dollars.
This year’s version is gaining even more attention because the cover features the late Kobe Bryant.
When the game is released in a few months, countless people will play as the Denver Nuggets and score plenty of points with Murray.
He will still be very popular despite his 84 rating.
