After struggling to deal with key injuries throughout this season, the Cincinnati Bengals will not participate in the NFL playoffs.
They finished just 9-8, and they had to try to endure quarterback Joe Burrow being banged up for almost the entire season starting in training camp.
The one big constant was star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who recorded 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns en route to his third Pro Bowl selection in as many pro seasons.
When he was asked who he thinks will play in this season’s Super Bowl, he said “anybody but the [Kansas City] Chiefs” for his AFC pick, per Jeremy Rauch.
“Anybody but the Chiefs.”
Ja’Marr Chase kept the rivalry alive when asked on SportsCenter who’s going to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs happen to be the team that prevented the Bengals from reaching the Super Bowl last season when they defeated the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.
Cincinnati had come close to winning it all during the 2021 season, only to fall to the Los Angeles Rams when wide receiver Cooper Kupp scored a late touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes and company should never be counted out, but they have a lack of reliable wide receivers, which has put lots of pressure on star end Travis Kelce, whose numbers are down this year.
Moving forward, the Bengals have some difficult decisions to make, as both Chase and fellow wideout Tee Higgins will soon be up for contract extensions.
Plenty of people feel the team cannot afford to keep both, and if that is the case, losing Higgins would be a big blow for a franchise that has never won a world championship.
