Before James Harden made his debut with the Los Angeles Clippers, Russell Westbrook had already warned the fans not to get ahead of themselves, stating that it would take some time before they could find their rhythm together.

That was evident in the team’s first game together, as they fell flat in the fourth quarter vs. the New York Knicks.

Even so, Harden is pretty confident in their ability to figure things out sooner rather than later.

Following the loss, he talked about the ‘endless possibilities’ the team is going to have with him, Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George on the court, adding that they had a lot of easy shots that they would usually make (via Joey Linn).

James Harden on the potential of his pairing alongside Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook:

“Unlimited possibilities. We had a solid three quarters. We couldn’t really catch a rhythm offensively. We missed a lot of easy shots that we’re gonna make…” pic.twitter.com/rhmKZtNX0B

Truth be told, it’s hard to think of a team that could match up with this kind of firepower, especially considering that both Harden and Westbrook have already proven that they can be pass-first kind of guys and don’t need to hog shots at a high clip if that’s what’s best for the team.

Talking about endless possibilities, perhaps coach Tyronn Lue could consider sending Russell Westbrook to the second unit to keep more balance in the first unit.

Harden hadn’t played this season after his drama-filled offseason with the Philadelphia 76ers, so he might also need some time to get his legs back under him.

But despite the loss, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about this team if you’re a Clippers fan, even if they need a couple of weeks to figure things out.
