James Harden Sends Cryptic Message About ‘Business’

Right now, there is plenty of uncertainty surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers, and just about all of it concerns James Harden.

When this summer began, there was reportedly an understanding between him and the 76ers that they would look to trade him, and the Los Angeles Clippers were discussed as a potential destination and Harden’s preference.

But after several weeks, nothing happened, and the Sixers said they wouldn’t look to trade him any longer, which led to Harden being at odds with executive Daryl Morey.

The veteran star guard recently posted photos of himself on Twitter dressed fancily with the cryptic text: “Strictly business.”

Harden was traded by the Brooklyn Nets to Philly midway through the 2021-22 season in the deal that got rid of the disgruntled Ben Simmons.

But that deal has been fruitless, as Philly has lost in the second round of the playoffs with Harden in both of the last two seasons.

This spring, they got out to a 3-2 series lead over the Boston Celtics, only to lose the final two games as Harden played very poorly.

Some have pointed out the fact that this is the third time in just three years that Harden has asked to be traded, and there is now a feeling that while he is still a very good player, he simply isn’t a winning player.

The 76ers, who haven’t been to the NBA Finals since 2001 and haven’t won it all since 1983, are looking to be a true winning team, and perhaps Harden is an albatross that is preventing them from doing so.
