The New York Jets went all-in during this NFL offseason, with the storied franchise going out and grabbing another legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback.

Back in 2008, the Jets had Hall of Famer Brett Favre under center, and now Aaron Rodgers has followed in his footsteps by joining the franchise in New York after a blockbuster trade with the Packers.

Although the trade was seemingly inevitable, the Jets and Packers had a tough time coming to terms on the deal, which some believed led to some bad blood between the teams.

Recently, Packers CEO Mark Murphy said publicly that he hopes the Jets have a bad year, and plenty of Packers fans probably think the same way, but it was a bit of a classless remark, which prompted a response from former Packers wide receiver James Jones, via “Speak” on FS1.

As Jones points out, the Packers stand to benefit from the Jets’ struggles in 2023, as their draft pick acquired by the team will go up with more losses and a poor season for New York.

Even though that’s the case, it doesn’t have to be said publicly, as it’s a bad look for Murphy and the Packers franchise.

Green Bay might be in for a rough ride in 2023 with the Jets looking stacked on both sides of the football, and as long as Rodgers can stay healthy and productive, New York could become the team to beat in the AFC.

A lot rides on Rodgers and whether he can still play at an MVP level, which remains to be seen.
