The Detroit Lions are off to a strong 3-1 start this season, and they have so far met the preseason hype that had them finishing first in the NFC North.

Quarterback Jared Goff is putting up solid numbers, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is playing well, and their defense looks much improved compared to last season.

However, they still have some room for improvement.

Second-year wideout Jameson Williams hasn’t played yet this season due to a gambling-related suspension, but he says he has been working on his game while he has been out, specifically his catching, via Ben Raven on Twitter.

Williams was the No. 12 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and although he had just one reception for 41 yards and a touchdown last year, the team has high hopes for him.

It’s no wonder why Detroit is so hopeful for him, as he put up 1,572 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in his last season in the NCAA as a member of Alabama.

The Lions have a relatively young team between St. Brown, Williams, rookie tight end Sam LaPorta, and second-year defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson, and there is plenty of hope for the next few years.

Goff is 29 years of age and is putting up solid numbers this year after coming off one of his best seasons in 2022, and he should have several strong years left in him if he remains healthy.

The Lions are playing the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers the next two weeks, which means they have a good chance of improving to 5-1 heading into their Week 7 matchup at the Baltimore Ravens.
