When the Detroit Lions traded away Matthew Stafford, there were a lot of unknowns around the fanbase.

While the Lions had struggled for several years with Stafford at the helm, he was a beloved player within the organization.

Fans were sad to see him leave and were unsure about what Jared Goff could bring to the table since things didn’t end up working out with the Los Angeles Rams.

However, Goff has done a great job of proving himself to the fans, helping bring the Lions their first NFC North title and leading the team to the NFC Championship.

They might not have made it to the Super Bowl, but this was a step in the right direction for a Lions team that is starting to gain more momentum.

While Goff has done well on the field, he recently made some comments that were not received positively by fans and members of the Lions media.

Goff allegedly made comments about the negativity of the reporter’s questions, which he tried to clarify in a conversation with Eric Woodyard of ESPN.

“There’s been a ton of positivity,” Goff said, adding, “It may have got twisted a little bit.”

At least in this conversation with Woodyard, Goff seemed like he was genuinely sorry about the way his comments were misconstrued.

He does appear to like being a member of the Lions and hopes to further integrate with the fanbase and the community as a whole.

Will this apology be enough to get back in the good graces of fans and the general media?
