The Los Angeles Rams were one of the best teams in the league.
They had been uber-aggressive in their pursuit of talent, and with one of the brightest young minds leading the way, it seemed like a matter of time before they hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy.
They even made it all the way to the Super Bowl but couldn’t get the job done in the big game, and it soon became evident that they needed to get better at the quarterback position.
That’s why they traded Jared Goff and some picks to the Detroit Lions to get Matthew Stafford, a move that instantly paid off, as they made it back to the big game and won the whole thing in his very first season with the team.
Needless to say, that only put more pressure on Goff, who was then pointed out as the reason why his team hadn’t been able to find success.
It’s been almost three years from that trade, and while it proved to be the best scenario for all parties involved, Goff recently admitted that he might never truly move on from that.
Goff said that the trade will, “never leave me.”

At the end of the day, Goff was also able to thrive and take his career up from the ground in a different, rejuvenated environment and without all that pressure.
Now, he has an opportunity to stick it to his former team and prove them wrong by knocking them out of the playoffs, and you better believe he’ll have a huge chip on his shoulder.
