The Memphis Grizzlies have one of the flashiest and most athletic players in today’s game.

Ja Morant’s dunk package is one of the deepest, and he won’t hesitate to try and put the best defenders and biggest names in the league on a poster.

He’s shown that you cannot give him an inch of space, or he’ll look to take over, and his huge vertical leap will help him jump through the roof.

That’s why Paul George asked Jaren Jackson Jr. in his Podcast P about the first time that Morant dunked on him, and his response wasn’t surprising at all (via ClutchPoints).

Jackie Long: “Has Ja Morant ever dunked on you?”

Jaren Jackson Jr: “Ja dunked on me first day, it was an oop though… [He] caught a reverse oop.”

JL: “A reverse one too?!”

JJJ: “Bro, It’s Ja. What do you want?”

Truth to form, the former No. 2 pick actually dunked on Jackson on the very first day of practice.

To add insult to injury, it was on a reverse alley-oop.

Jackson raved about Morant’s athleticism and ability to dunk, stating that he’s done some incredible things during warmups, including a blindfolded reverse between-the-legs dunk.

Unfortunately for the fans, Jackson also stated that there was no way Morant would participate in the Slam Dunk contest.

The Dunk Contest used to feature the best and most athletic players in the game, but that’s no longer the case.

Not even borderline All-Stars or young stars are doing it anymore, and the fans feel like it’s been watered down.

We’re seeing G-League players and out-of-rotation players dunk, and while some of them are spectacular, that’s not what the fans want to see, with all due respect.

For now, it seems like we’ll have to settle for watching Morant do his thing in games.
