Over the past week or so, NFL players have fired back at Austin Rivers’ controversial claim.

The former Los Angeles Clippers guard caught fire for stating that there were at least 30 NBA players who could’ve played in the NFL, but there weren’t 30 NFL players who could’ve made it to the NBA.

Needless to say, those comments rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

However, as much as he could agree with most of his argument, legendary C Jason Kelce still thinks LeBron James would’ve thrived in the NFL.

He took to Twitter to state that James would’ve become the biggest endzone threat in the game within a full offseason.

I love this argument and passion from Ryan, and as a football player my mind is screaming hell yea!!! But, if I was an NFL GM, and it was an option, I’d sign Lebron today and within one offseason he’d be the greatest redzone threat in the NFL. https://t.co/wjG8Ku99WP

That’s a bit of a reach but perhaps the truth is somewhere in between.

There are some elite athletes, such as LeBron, who could’ve found success in every game.

The same goes for guys like Deion Sanders or, even more recently, Odell Beckham Jr.

At the end of the day, chances are that most NBA players could’ve been professional players and vice versa, as athleticism often translates to multiple sports, and the work ethic and obsession it takes to be a pro is the same.

Then again, as for one sport being easier than the other or requiring more skill or preparation, there’s simply no point in debating that.
