The Los Angeles Lakers escaped Tuesday night’s clash vs. the Phoenix Suns with a win to clinch a spot in the In-Season Tournament’s semifinals.
That means they’ll get to square off vs. the up-and-coming New Orleans Pelicans, who pulled off a big upset over the Sacramento Kings on Monday.
On the other side of the bracket, we find the Milwaukee Bucks facing the Indiana Pacers, with Adrian Griffin’s team favored by most sportsbooks.
Needless to say, most people now expect Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard to meet LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the final, but Jay Williams isn’t like most people.
In the latest edition of ESPN’s Get Up, the former NBA player predicted the Pelicans would take down the Lakers and get a spot in the finals vs. the Bucks.

The Pelicans just got Trey Murphy and CJ McCollum back, and they’ve been quite solid when they’ve been at full strength.
Brandon Ingram has been on a tear this season, and we already know what Zion Williamson is capable of when he’s on the court.
The Lakers managed to get past Devin Booker and Kevin Durant and had one of their best games of the season, but we’ve seen them be a bit of a roller coaster, and they’ve struggled to put together good efforts in consecutive games.
Anything could happen in a win-or-go-home game, and while networks might rather have the Lakers in the big game, they won’t have an easy time getting past Willie Green’s squad.
