The Minnesota Timberwolves are moving on to the Western Conference Finals.
We only have four teams left in contention for an NBA championship.
As of now, most people and analysts just assume that the Boston Celtics will beat the Indiana Pacers and be well-rested in the NBA Finals.
The Western Conference picture, however, is more complicated, as the Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks both look like strong contenders.
Whatever the case, and regardless of who wins on the other side of the bracket, Jay Williams believes it’s Minnesota’s time to win the whole thing.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, the former first-round pick pointed out just how incredibly dominant the Timberwolves have been on the defensive end of the floor.
“This is the Minnesota team I’m gonna pick to win the whole thing.”

He talked about the Denver Nuggets’ insane offensive efficiency in their three consecutive wins, and how the Timberwolves were able to make some tweaks and dominate them defensively again in Games 6 and 7.
The old saying states that offense wins games and defense wins championships, and that has continued to be true to this day.
The Timberwolves have the best defense in the league this season, holding down the reigning NBA champions to just 90 points in a close-out game, including just 37 points in the second half.
It won’t be easy, and going against the likes of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic will obviously put them to the test on defense again.
But if they advance, you have to like their chances against anybody, even if it’s against Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and the most stacked team in the game.
