The Washington Commanders told the world what they thought of Jayden Daniels by selecting him with the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft.
Daniels was somewhat of a polarizing prospect heading into the draft, but with his rushing upside in mind, they couldn’t pass him up.
With their recent quarterback inconsistencies in mind, the Commanders needed to take a chance on someone like Daniels, hoping he could be their answer at the position.
He has looked the part to this point, performing well in training camp and their preseason game.
One aspect of playing quarterback well is looking to others who have succeeded at the position and trying to emulate their success.
It appears that Daniels has taken a liking to Jordan Love’s game, and believes he should be more respected around the league.
In a recent podcast appearance on Overtime via MLFootball, Daniels said, “What he did last year… He deserves more love.”

The pun here was obvious, but Daniels’ sentiment was genuine.
He believes Love was the answer for the Green Bay Packers, and after seeing the contract they gave him, it’s tough to disagree.
With any luck, Daniels will have as much success in his rookie year as Love did in his first year as the Packers starter.
The main difference between them is that Love had the luxury of sitting behind Aaron Rodgers, while Daniels is slated to start right away.
Can he deliver what the Commanders are hoping of him, bringing them to the playoffs in his first full season?
