After making easy work of the competition in the Eastern Conference throughout the first three rounds of the NBA playoffs, the 64-win Boston Celtics were thought to have their hands full in the NBA Finals going up against the Dallas Mavericks’ dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
Unfortunately for Dallas, it has been more of the same for Boston in the Finals, with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum continuing to lead the storied franchise to wins, coming only two wins away from raising an NBA-record 18th championship banner in the rafters at TD Garden.
Even though the Celtics have a commanding 2-0 lead as this best-of-seven series shifts to the American Airlines Center in Dallas for the next two games, Brown is trying to keep a level head and trying to convince himself that the team is down 0-2 rather than up 2-0, according to Jared Weiss of The Athletic.
“You gotta trick your mind and play like you’re down 0-2, not up…The mind is a powerful thing,” Brown said.

With Brown playing at a high level throughout the postseason thus far and recently coming off earning Eastern Conference Finals MVP honors, the versatile star seems to be moving forward with the right mindset, as neither he nor the team should be content with where they are in the Finals, as things can change quickly, especially away from Boston.
Doncic and company are desperately looking for an edge to get back into this series and will likely be going all out in Game 3 on Wednesday night in order to get the team’s first win in the Finals this year.
