The Boston Celtics are going to finish with the second seed in the Eastern Conference, and they’re hoping to return to the NBA Finals and capture their 18th world championship.

Unfortunately, one of their star players suffered an injury in a strange way.

Jaylen Brown suffered a cut on his right hand that required five stitches after picking up a glass vase he knocked over while watering his plants.

The good news is that he is expected to be ready to play when the NBA playoffs begin next weekend.

Brown, who has been a rising stud for the last several years, has put together a career season this year.

He is averaging 26.6 points and 6.9 rebounds a game while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, all of which are career highs, and that production earned him his second All-Star game selection.

With Brown’s help, the Celtics currently rank second in the league in offensive rating.

He makes up one-half of their star duo along with Jayson Tatum, who is also having the best season of his career to date by putting up 30.2 points per game.

While Tatum played very poorly in last season’s NBA Finals, Brown tried to keep Boston afloat with big performances in Game 3 and Game 6, but it wasn’t enough, as they lost to the Golden State Warriors.

The team is heavily dependent on both stars to carry them, even though the acquisition of Malcolm Brogdon has somewhat improved the bench production, and a big postseason from Brown just could be enough for the Celtics to win yet another Larry O’Brien Trophy.
