The Boston Celtics walk into the 2024 NBA Playoffs with excellent odds to come out of the Eastern Conference.
The Celtics dominated the 2023-24 NBA regular season, finishing with a league-best 64-18 record and running away with the No. 1 seed.
Boston had to wait a few days to find out who they’d play in round 1, but the matchup between them and the Miami Heat was set after the latter beat the Chicago Bulls in the Play-In Tournament.
The last time the two teams met in the postseason, Miami prevailed in seven games and advanced to the NBA Finals.
It was quite the shock for Boston who were the favorites in that series, and will now be looking to avenge that loss.
Jaylen Brown sent a clear message ahead of Game 1 against the Heat via Justin Turpin of WEEI.

Brown struggled in the series against Miami who did a good job of bottling him up and forcing him to his left.
However, this time around the Celtics are the overwhelming favorites because the Heat will likely be without Jimmy Butler for the entirety of the series after spraining his knee.
It’s hard to bet against head coach Erik Spoelstra in a playoff series, but even he will have a hard time trying to game plan for a Boston team that has a chip on their shoulders.
It should be a physical series between the two, but Boston has the edge in this one and should advance relatively easily.
