There was a time when the NBA Slam Dunk Contest drew a lot of viewers for the league during the NBA All-Star Weekend.
However, over the last few years, the quality of the decorated contest has suffered severely.
The primary reason behind the fans’ loss of interest in the contest is the fact that the majority of the big-name superstars in the league never participate in it.
Well, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown hopes to change that as he is one of the participants in the 2024 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
Ahead of it, Brown pointed out that he wishes his gesture would encourage more top players to participate in the contest in the future via Celtics on NBC Sports on Twitter.
“I think it’ll be fun… I wish more top players decided to compete,” Brown said.

Jaylen Brown has emerged as one of the best players in the Eastern Conference over the last few years.
Obviously, he has earned several individual accolades in the same time frame during his NBA career.
Brown has played 48 games this season, where he has averaged 22.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game for the Boston Celtics.
Brown’s numbers are one of the key reasons behind the Celtics’ immense success in the 2023-24 NBA season as they remain head and shoulders above their competition in the league.
