Jayson Tatum is promising fans that the Boston Celtics are doing things the right way this year.
The Celtics took down the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night, giving them another strong win with the playoffs right around the corner.
Speaking to Noa Dalzell and the press, Tatum explained how his team has changed since the last postseason.
“Last year we were so antsy to get back to the Finals that we had a few bad losses in the last few weeks of the season, we went to six games in the first round — we may have took some things for granted,” Tatum said.

Swearing that the Celtics aren’t “skipping steps” this year, he believes they are in a much better position to get far in the postseason.
The Celtics certainly have a better record than in 2022-23.
They are currently 59-16, the best record in the league and already better than last year’s 57-25 with several games left.
Since the start of the season, they have been the most dominant team in the NBA and have scored a number of winning streaks.
For months now, they have been considered the team to beat, not only in the East but in the entire league.
That being said, they recently suffered a few concerning defeats.
They were taken down twice in back-to-back games against the Atlanta Hawks.
The nature of those losses and the way they gave up a huge lead during one of them had some people worried about what could happen in the playoffs.
But Tatum is certain that his team is doing things the right way and they have improved their mindset.
The Celtics aren’t taking anything for granted, Tatum said, and that will make a huge difference in the weeks ahead.
